Like the rest of the design world I've been following C Wonder since they launched in New York and now in LA. Their graphic prints and high color contrast pieces are right on trend and pretty fantastic, but they're often just out of my price range. However; they have some great pieces on sale right now. I've selected my favorites, if you'd like to learn more about an item click on it's picture.
I think that Butterfly tray would look great on my coffee table!
My little family is packing up today to fly home tomorrow. We've been on the road for just shy of a month and although I hate to say good-bye to our extended family, I'm itching to get back home. I've seen so many things that have inspired new thoughts and new designs ideas. My number one thought this morning, outdoor wallpaper.
Wall and Deco make this line of outdoor wallpaper called, Get Out! and I love it. I first saw it on Design Milk maybe a month or two ago, but I've been thinking about ways to jazz up my exterior space every since. The modern houndstooth below has me drooling - I am a sucker for mens suit patterns.
And what could be more current than a tribal pattern? And in my favorite color!
Lovely right? I think the use of wallpaper has no limits now, ceilings, exterior walls, you name it and somebody has wallpapered over it! I'll be writing to you from Boston next time, talk to you soon.
Oh how I LOVE blue. I am always looking for ways to add more of this color to my home. I love that it can be clean, bright, calm, watery, clear, energizing, my list could go on and on. I think a big part of my love affair is centered around water, and how water has always been my happy place. Anything that reminds me of the beach, the water and the sky, has to be a great thing! I am always trying to add more of this lovely color to my house.
I've collected a few inspirational images that have been bouncing around in my head. As you'll be able to tell, I'm kind of on a cobalt kick, but there is always room for more shades and tones and everything in between.
And this is the image that has been keeping me up at night. I need this color combo in my house! The bright blue with the shiny black, be still my heart!
When I was in high school I had this outfit that I couldn't have loved more. Black pants that were fitted through the thigh but generous in the lower leg area (I have always had muscular calves) with a black and cobalt blue horizontal stripped turtleneck. I felt like a million bucks in this combo. Every time I wore it I thought, "This outfit was made for me!". The fit was the best I'd ever worn, it was tailored, it was more fancy than my other clothes (read flannel shirts - it was the late 90s), and the color felt powerful and fun. When I see this room I think back to that outfit and the way it made me feel. This color combo will always be a favorite!
Do you have any associations with color like that? I know for my husband who grew up with a mother who loves red, he feels very comfortable and eased by a school house red.
Guess what? 2nd and Strand joined the social media world and now has a page on facebook. Exciting, right? We wanted to create this page to keep people connected to our content in an easy way. As our usual readers know, to maintain a balance in mine and Andrea's lives, we only post 3 times a week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday*), so because of this, you don't have to be worried about your facebook homepage being overloaded with too much information from us, like some pages like to do. We will let you know what stories we have published, and will keep you updated on exciting things like fun giveaways (we may or may not be in talks about this very topic... so keep posted!). So moral of the story, LIKE 2nd and Strand on facebook!!
So to celebrate this step for 2nd and Strand, I thought it would be fun to share some pretty blue related images, since... you know... facebook's logo (as well as our new beauty!) is blue.

Here at 2nd and Strand we will give our opinions, and invite readers to do the same in the comments. To see past 2nd Opinion posts, look on the right hand sidebar at '2nd Opinion' under categories.
